Dimapur, Oct. 18 (EMN): The 13th Common Review Mission (CRM) team led by Mona Gupta, advisor, Human Resource Health (HRH), National Health System Resource Centre (NHSRC), New Delhi arrived in Nagaland on October 17 to monitor health sector in the state.
This was informed by DIPR in an update on Friday.
Briefing the officials and team members of DH&FW and CRM at Hotel Japfu, Kohima on Thursday evening, Gupta said that CRM is an important monitoring mechanism where the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare along with other allied departments and the state come together to find solution for the existing challenges. She added that the team is looking forward to supporting and supervising rather than find faults.
She stressed on the need to have open communication within the team and the state to find out the challenges, stating that changes for any existing challenges will come from within the state and that “solution will not come from Delhi”.
Gupta motivated her team to look at Nagaland from a different angle, keeping in mind the entire local scenario and find out the best solution. She also expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and generous hospitability the state had accorded to the team on their arrival. She went on to say that she was looking forward to the upcoming days with positivity ‘to know the reality and support the existing system to strengthen healthcare.’
Ramakrishnan, principal secretary H&FW, Nagaland appreciated positive outcome of CRM visits, stating that such missions helped Nagaland to boost healthcare of the people.
Annual CRM has been one of the most important monitoring mechanisms under National Health Mission (NHM) which has provided valuable understanding of the strategies which were successful and those which warranted mid-course adjustments in the Health Sector Reforms, according to the update.
The 14-member CRM team will be divided into two groups led by Mona Gupta and Dr. Neha Dumka, sr. consultant, community process (CP)/CPHC, NHSRC. The teams will visit Kiphire and Phek districts between October 18 and 23.

NIHFW; Dr. Swamili, consultant NHSRC; Mansi Rawat, WCD, New Delhi; Dr. Kapil Joshi, sr. consultant, RCH; Dr. Amlan Majumdar, sr. prog. manager, CARE India; Ayushi Rai, consultant, HRH, NHSHR; Hari Krishan, financial asst. MoH&FW; Dr. Manjari, consultant, NHSRC; and Srinadh, research asst., NITI.
