Combined AA programme held in Dimapur
Dimapur, March 2 (EMN): The first combined Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) programme was held at Ao Baptist Church, Diphupar, on February 28 on the theme “To bring innovation to the life transformation programmes within the church”.
An update the North East Artist Network (Nean) stated that the programme was attended by AA members from Ao Baptist Church Padumphukuri, Diphupar B Ao Baptist Church, Unity Ao Baptist Church, and Ao Baptist Church Diphupar. The programme was chaired by AA Dimapur president L Yanger Imsong and the secretary Imkonglemba Longkumer, while the welcome address and invocation was said by deacon from Ao Baptist Church Diphupar.
It stated that AA members from different churches shared their life testimony- life before and after joining life transformation camp. It added that one of the AA members shared how his life has changed after joining life transformation camp and sober for three years now. He testified that within three years, he could buy a small plot of land, build a house and also bought a small car and now lives a happy life which was missing for the last many years.
Speaking on the benefit of AA, pastors from the participating churches stated that it gives identity and recognition; helps to encourage alcoholic community spiritually; helps to understand and make them aware about the value of life; encourages a healthy relationship with the society, provides a platform for alcoholic community to help each other in times of difficulties and relapse; and helps the alcoholics for a better sustained sobriety and improves the quality of life of an alcoholics.
It added that Nean chief functionary also delivered a motivational speech. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks and concluding remarks delivered by AA advisor of Ao Baptist Church Diphupar.
An approximate 100 AA members along with the staff of Nean attended the programme. It further informed that the Ao Baptist Church Padumphukuri has announced to host the next combined AA meeting.
