442 Management has, on Saturday, announced Colo Mero as Executive Director to the Company and will be part of the Nagaland Premier League in that capacity. He will also be an ambassador for NPL and the chairman for the NPL Juniors. NPL Juniors is the official under 15 program devised by 442 Management which will be a yearlong football activity program for schools, clubs, churches and organisations.
The importance and the vision of NPL is to build it year by year to develop football and its market in Nagaland. The process is not overnight and we are progressing in the right direction, stated a press statement received here and it added, “having Colo Mero join the 442 Management and especially NPL and its allied activities is a major step in the developmental activities of 442 Management because of the love and passion he has for football and what football can achieve in the state.”
With this regard Colo Mero stated, “I am honoured and deeply humbled to accept this new responsibilities for the love of the beautiful game and the colourful people of our state. I am really looking forward to doing anything football with friends from the 442 Management, all the participating clubs and all those who have concern to develop the game. I hope the partnership of life sports and 442 Management, along with other like minded clubs will take Nagaland Football to higher levels. Together let us develop Nagaland into a football state.”
Colo is the director for Life Sports under Life Ministries and his experience and Vision is invaluable to Nagaland Premier League and 442 Management. His work is well respected and his experience will definitely take NPL and 442 Management to another level of growth. Certain core objectives we all share is to develop a set of Nagaland Players to play at a higher level plus imagining the possibility of Nagaland having atleast 8 professional commercial entity clubs, 8 Church related organisations and 8 Community based Clubs. The Core examples are Kohima Komets, Life Sports and Longkhum Village Council of the Zonipang SA franchise. So maybe in the next 5 to 10 years, if we can achieve this than imagine how many people in different spectrums of life related to football would be placed, the 442 Management statement added.
With the Nagaland Premier League kicking off soon, the management has called upon the fans and supporters to work with them and help support the clubs. While acknowledging the importance of fans and its contribution towards the club and the league, the management also called upon football loving organisations or corporate houses to support the league saying that their contribution directly infuses into a football development program.
