• ANCSU, ENSF appeal to state to restore mobile web services
• Students deprived of study materials, info online
Dimapur, Feb 17 : The All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) has appealed to the Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) and Naga Tribes’ Action Committee (NTAC) to exempt colleges and other educational institutions from the purview of the ongoing bandh in all the districts.
Expressing concern over the ongoing imbroglio which it implied had affected the students’ community, the ANCSU said that the current semester system for undergraduate and degree studies under Nagaland University and other colleges have to put in day-to-day activity for completion of syllabus within a time frame.
The organisation also pointed out that college students cannot risk even a single day of their semester as it will directly affect their ‘internal and external examinations.’ College students have been made to miss regular classes for several days in view of the ongoing bandh, it was informed. The ANCSU also expressed a similar concern for high schools and higher secondary schools around the state.
The ANCSU extended support to the JCC-NTAC and all other organisations.
Appeals to lift ban on internet
The ANCSU has also appealed to the Nagaland government to immediately lift the ban on mobile internet services in the state as the students appearing HSLC and HSSLC examinations are being deprived of access to study materials and other necessary information through the internet.
‘The internet connection has nothing to do with the ongoing imbroglio of Nagaland state. Instead, due to the internet ban, more rumours and confusions are mounted. Due to internet ban many section of the society is adversely affected,’ the ANCSU’s President Zhoku Thuluo and General Secretary Benjong Longchar said in a statement on Friday.
