College of Veterinary Sciences observes Rajbhasha Fortnight

DIMAPUR — The College of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, CAU, Jalukie, Peren, celebrated Rajbhasha Fortnight on September 21 with Dr. Brijesh Kumar, assistant professor, department of Hindi, Nagaland University, as the chief guest.

According to an update, the event was attended by Dr. I Shakuntala, dean of the college, faculty members, staff, and students.

Speaking on the occasion of “Use of Hindi in official works,” Kumar urged everyone to use Hindi in official work to encourage confidence in speaking the language.

In her speech, Shakuntala emphasised the significance of Hindi Diwas in enriching the country’s unity. She also discussed the beauty and diversity of India’s linguistic heritage.

The celebration also featured various activities, including Hindi poem recitation and a Hindi song performed by college students.

Earlier, on September 14, the college celebrated “Hindi Diwas,” featuring a variety of competitions in which students demonstrated their proficiency in Hindi through poem recitation, extempore speech, and vocabulary contests.

All the winners were awarded certificates on the day of the Rajbhasha Fortnight celebration.
