Dimapur, Aug. 20 (EMN): The president of Nagaland Voluntary Consumer Organisation, Kezhokhoto Savi said “the collapse of education is the collapse of the nation.”
He said this based on a message given by a university professor to his students in South Africa – “Collapsing any nation does not require use of atomic bombs or the use of long missiles. It only requires lowering the quality of education and allowing cheating in the examination by the students.

The patient dies in the hands of such doctors. And buildings collapse in the hands of such engineers. And money is lost in the hands of such accountants. And humanity dies in the hands of such religious scholars. And justice is lost in the hands of such Judges.”

Savi was addressing the Angami Students’ Union of St. Joseph’s College Jakhama 23rd fresher’s meet at APO Hall in Kohima on Aug. 20, as the guest speaker. An update received here on Monday informed about the event.

Savi said that the primary role of college students is to get good education in order to be better citizens of tomorrow.
Saying that the vision of the society lies in the hands of youths and students, he challenged the students and leaders present at the event “to be a lifetime student.”

“When we were kids we are curious but for some reason as we get older that curiosity goes away,” Savi said. Therefore, he urged everyone to remain a lifelong student and do not lose the curiosity.

Emphasising on the importance of ‘Dignity of Labour,’ Savi said that life is a process of travelling for excellence. In this process, he elaborated that college students come across the good things and the bad things and the choice they make will reflect in their future.
