Lok Sabha MP Supongmeren Jamir chaired the DISHA Niuland meeting to review development schemes.

DIMAPUR — The District Development Coordination Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting for the Niuland district was held at the deputy commissioner's conference hall in Niuland on Wednesday.
Member of Parliament to the Lok Sabha and Chairperson of the DISHA committee, S Supongmeren Jamir, while addressing the meeting, stated that the purpose of the meeting was to assess the achievements and challenges of the departments in implementing various schemes and projects in the district.
According to a DIPR report, he urged the members to come forward with any problems without any hesitation.
During the review meeting, the departments of Agriculture, Water Resources, Veterinary, and Labour delivered comprehensive PowerPoint presentations.

The Department of Agriculture delivered a presentation on its activities in the district, during which Jamir suggested setting up a cold storage facility in the district for agricultural products. After thorough deliberation, Jamir endorsed the matter to the district administration to formulate a clear roadmap for setting up the cold storage in the district.
The MP also held extensive deliberations with the officials from the departments of Water Resources, Agriculture, Veterinary, and Labour.
During the discussion, the status and prospects of dairy products in the district were deliberated upon. Jamir noted that dairy products have a huge potential market and urged the department officials to re-examine dairy farming in the district.
Regarding the network and communication problems in the district, Jamir assured that he would pursue the matter with the department concerned.
