[dropcap]F[/dropcap]eathers of the two fighting cocks began to shed as the battle goes on. Unless certain interference either by the Governor or from the Centre is made we are bound to witness the political imbroglio for some more time.
Today, both factions of the Naga People’s Front (NPF), one led by Noke Wangnao and the other by Shurhozelie Liezietsu, are bankrupt of ideas while raking up things to hurl allegations against the other. In fact, if this is not call washing dirty linen in public then what is? Both the NPF factions have stooped too low today and the languages they used in the media war are more of the talk-shop stuff and street-quarrels which behaviorism is a big departure from statesmanship. Well, we do not expect them to be statesmen but we do expect them to exhibit certain civility.
Now, no groups will gain in this ongoing cock-fight of the Cock-Party as the feathers will continue to shed in every strike. At the end of the day the fighting cocks will be featherless birds. Feathers would mean a lot to birds. Feathers protect them from hostile weather. They help them to fly. They help them to run faster. So the infighting is ruining the strongest regional party of the North East region. On the other hand, the Opposition party s closely watching the development that is fast unfurling. However, till date it has not been able to help engineer the political equation to its advantage. But it is too early to write off the Opposition party at the moment. It will be also not wrong to comment that the BJP led NDA government is busy calculating to find a right time for a political harvest in the State. It has several advantages since it is running the affairs today. However, it is looking for a plank and a suitable reason to display before the public so that it can have its interest in style.
