Dimapur, April 30 (EMN): The Nagaland State Co-operative Bank Limited has conducted an inaugural session of branch manager’s conference on April 27 at the bank’s head office in Dimapur. A press release informing about the event was received here from the bank establishment on Monday.
The vice chairman of the bank, Kekhwengulo Lea, in his address lauded the efforts of officials and employees of the bank for earning a profit of INR 860.63 lakh during the financial year 2017-18. Lea urged them to accept the challenges for the financial year 2018-19 in which a profit of INR 1308 lakh was projected and earmarked under the Development Action Plan.
Lea termed the cooperative bank as a viable institution of the state, that catered to the financial needs of cooperative societies, farmers, government employees and the public. He however, asserted that in order to help the people the organization needs to be financially viable and therefore important that the officials should work with definite plan to elevate the financial stature of the bank.
The vice chairman recalled the efforts of the managing director, Imtilemba Longkumer who will be retiring on June 30. He described Longkumer as one of the best directors of the bank, in which he has seamlessly led the bank to its present stature, where the profit base of the bank had enlarged along with other financial apparatus of the bank. He added that the biggest contribution during Longkumer’s period was the transformation from manual banking to modern day core banking at par with other banks.
