Dimapur, Dec. 3 (EMN): Central Nagaland Tribes Council (CNTC) has blamed the leadership of the present government of failing to deliver equitable distribution and governance and the grievances of the ENPO areas.
Stating that the elected house including the MLAs of the ENPO areas are responsible for the present embarrassing stalemate, CNTC urged the government to take the MLAs of ENPO areas into close confidence and bring out policy and programme to provide a clear road map and system of efficient governance.
CNTC also expressed concern and regret on the ENPO for not participating in the ongoing Hornbill Festival, which is considered an international event and where the unity of different tribes of the state is displayed. It stated that closed and empty morungs from ENPO areas presented a different story, stated a CNTC statement issued by its media cell.
CNTC called upon the government to do its duty by taking up the genuine needs of the people instead of organising festivals and becoming an event management group.
It lamented that the state government has left the demand of the ENPO in cold storage. It, therefore, asked the state government to explain why the ENPO started to ask for separate statehood and to address the issues before it gets out of hand.
While reiterating its stand on early Naga political solution, CNTC appealed to the government of India to deliver the solution as promised before the state assembly election. As parliament’s winter session is due, CNTC expressed hope that the Naga political issue would be taken up in the winter session and come out with a fruitful conclusion which has been a long cherished dream of all the Nagas.
