Dimapur, August 17 (EMN): The Central Nagaland Tribes Council has today demanded the National Highway Infrastructure Development Limited to provide quality works on the ongoing works in the state and also warned that no compromise will be made by the council on the workmanship.
The demand was made during a meeting of the CNTC with NHIDCL authorities at the latter’s office in Dimapur, stated a press release from the media cell of the CNTC.
It also stated that, the CNTC supported the demand made to the Chief Engineer (NH), NPWD by the Lotha Hoho in furnishing the details of the DPR and copies of the sanction order and work orders.
The CNTC appealed to NHIDCL not to sublet works to local contractors on the Wokha- Merapani NH/789 as it is the public who are always at the receiving end for “failing to adhere to the guidelines and specifications laid by some unscrupulous contractors.”
The NHDICL also agreed to the demands of the CNTC.
“NHIDLC assured to provide the best quality works and informed the CNTC they will never fail the people of Nagaland,” stated the press release.
The NHDICl also assured that the four lane road between Kushiabil and Patkai will be completed within the stipulated time.
The CNTC further asserted that no organisations, “overground or underground” should disturb any ongoing developmental works in the state so that it will not “hamper the progress and prosperity of the state and its people”.
It also assured to provide “all out support” for NHIDCL to check on any “elements which are anti-development and anti-people”.
