Dimapur, Sep. 18 (EMN): The Central Nagaland Students’ Association (CNSA), an apex student body of Ao, Sumi and Lotha, has served a seven-day ultimatum to the state government to roll back the Covid-19 cess on fuel and threatened to take ‘its own course of action’ if the authority ‘ignores the voice of the people’.

The association served the ultimatum to the chief minister through the deputy commissioner of Dimapur on Friday.

The CNSA stated that on May 5, it had requested the state government to roll back cess on petroleum products as the additional taxes has burdened the common people during this pandemic, but lamented that the state government has not responded to its plea made on behalf of the citizens of Nagaland.

The association in its consultative meeting decided to give seven days from the date of submitting its letter to the government to roll back the cess on petroleum products, specifically petrol and HSD, it stated.

The CNSA has appealed to the general public to extend support and co-operation.
