DIMAPUR — The Confederation of Nagaland Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CNCCI) has called off the statewide indefinite shutter down, with the Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) having conveyed about its “charter of demands being met” and the state government’s statement that it has initiated action to address the grievances.

In a press release issued on Monday, the CNCCI stated that the government should implement its order and decision across the state as the issue raised by the DCCI is “Nagaland in nature”.

Meanwhile, it lauded the state government for taking the grievances of the business community seriously, citing the Cabinet meeting called to discuss the matter. It also appreciated the deputy commissioner and commissioner of police, on behalf of DCCI, for working tirelessly to protect the traders.

The CNCCI went on to thank its district units, tribal apex bodies and the CSOs, especially Naga Council Dimapur, and the general public for the overwhelming support towards the clarion call to protest unabated multiple taxation and extortions.

Meanwhile, it reminded the government to address genuine grievances before things blow out of proportion, adding that its long-pending “demand with Department of Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, since 2021”  is yet to be addressed.

“The CNCCI demands the government to immediately redress our demand with utmost seriousness and act upon it or the CNCCI will not hesitate to again go with statewide outcry,” it stated.
