CM’s XI win exhibition football match

Our Correspondent KOHIMA, JULY 22 An exhibition football match between the Chief Minister’s XI and Chief Secretary’s XI was held this afternoon at the Nagaland Secretariat. The exhibition, featuring the Nagaland legislators and top bureaucrats of the State attracted a good number of spectators. To the delight of the spectators, the Chief Minister TR Zeliang and Chief Secretary Pankaj Kumar also participated in the match as captains of their respective teams. Though the chief secretary was substituted after 15 minutes of play, the chief minister played for all the 80 minutes of the match.The match went in favour of CM’s XI by a margin of 4-2. In the first half, the Chief Minister’s XI scored three goals. The goals came from the boots of Mmhonlumo Kikon, Chotisuh Sazo and Vikheho Swu. Trailing behind by 3-0 with the end of the first half, the Chief Secretary’s XI tried its best to level the match in the second half, but was in vain. The goal scorers for Chief Secretary’s XI were Sentiyanger and L Kire. The fourth goal in favour of CM’s XI after the lemon break was scored by Imtiyapang Aier. Those legislators and bureaucrats who didn’t feature in the match also attended as spectators.
