[dropcap]T[/dropcap]here should be a limit in making claims even in the midst and heat of political tug-of-war. The Chief Minister of Nagaland while struggling even to keep his own flock together claims that 52 MLAs in the house of 60 (86% of the legislators) supporting him is near-to-total absurdity. If such is the case then why the political quagmire prevails? More so, the problem is nothing but an oust campaign against him by many of the legislators. If the rebels are not in the majority side or if majority of them are not rebels (against him) there cannot be a threat to the incumbent. Again, if there is no threat to his Kursi we don’t see any reason the Chief Minister should invest his energy in opening a political camp and engage with the media to give running commentaries that his ministry is safe and sound. The logic is as simple as this. One allegation that is never missed in the media comments of the Dr Shurhozelie-T R Zeliang led group is that the legislators camped at Sovima in Dimapur are forcibly being detained by the Noke Wangnao-G Kaito Aye headed NPF. Well, these legislators are not that vulnerable that they can be easily packed in gunny bags and transported to the Sovima camp. We also don’t think anaesthetic substance is used by the organizers of Sovima camp on the legislators that they remain in vegetative state in the camp for so long (if at all there is a camp at Sovima as alleged by the Dr Shurozelie group).
Here, we are not making an attempt to justify the activities of the Noke led NPF nor do we support it. We are just pointing out things that have spilt (from the arena).
