Chief Minister TR Zeliang on behalf of the government of Nagaland and his family extended best wishes for a Merry Christmas and a very prosperous New Year to the people of Nagaland. The chief minister in his Christmas message today appealed all to jointly strive for peace, reconciliation and God’s guidance to leaders to deliver justice to the people of the State.
“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9: 6) May the birth of this Prince of Peace usher in us individuals and also the society the dawn of peace, goodwill and harmony. And as we celebrate Christmas, let us count the bountiful blessings the Almighty has bestowed on all of us thus far and give thanks to the Lord. Let us also pray to the Almighty, the Everlasting Father to give good counsel to the differing individuals, the rival groups, to jointly strive for permanent peace in our land; to forgive the trespasses of each other; to forgive and learn from the wrongs of the past; and to steer the destiny of the Naga people to a destination that is acceptable to the people and which has the favour of the Almighty.”
In this festive season, the chief minister urged all to pray for the God’s continued counsel and wisdom to all leaders so as to enable them to deliver justice to the people they administer.
“May the decisions the leaders take be pleasing to the eyes of the Almighty. And may the people sing along with the Angels on high, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favour rests.”
