CM apprised on indigenous tribe issues

Members of Nagaland Tribe Council (NTC), who called on the chief minister Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu, at the latter office chamber in Nagaland Civil Secretariat Liezietsu on June 9.

Dimapur, June 9 (EMN): Nagaland Tribes Council (NTC) officials called on the Chief Minister Dr. Shrurhozielie Lezietsu today at his office to apprise him on the various issues concerning the indigenous tribes of Nagaland.

The issues include strict implementation of Land and Revenue (amendment) Act, 1978; need to review the standard procedures to establish indigenous inhabitants status as per 1977 notification; concerns of the citizens on the ongoing political process; dangers of Nagaland Special Development Zone (NSDZ) concept.

NTC officials also urged the government to put such issues to proper conclusion and keep the protective laws in full force and other related issues needing the immediate attention of the government in view of the prevailing situation. NTC has assured the State government of its fullest co-operation to uphold the interest of the State on the above issues.

Meanwhile, NTC has appreciated the Chief Minister for his patient hearing and assurance to give all efforts to address the issues raised by NTC.
