Dimapur, March 19 (EMN): The Saramati Nexus Club Pungro, in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK), Kiphire and Government Higher Secondary School, Pungro, observed the World Vaccination Day on March 16 during a programme held at Governmet Higher Secondary School, Pungro, with medical officer of Pungro CHC, Dr. Hyunilo Tep, as the guest speaker.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Hyunilo Tep stressed on the necessity for everyone to get vaccinated against all viruses and diseases. With the ongoing pandemic, the speaker has particularly insisted both the old and young to be vaccinated at all cost, an update from the club stated.
The speaker cited examples of some successful vaccines that have been manufactured against deadly diseases such as small pox, chicken pox etc. He advised the students to pass the message to their parents and elders and not to shy away from being vaccinated. He also advised the students not to like in rumours and spread fake information.
The programme was chaired by the club’s former president David Deshilen. It stated that all its members along with other youth clubs registered under NYK Kiphire, staff and the students of GHSS Pungro attended the programme.
