Imphal, Oct. 16 (EMN): Manipur Governor La Ganesan, while visiting the country’s only floating national park -- Keibul Lamjao National Park (KLNP) and Gopinath Mandir at Ningthoukhong, both located in Manipur’s Bishnupur district on Saturday said that cleanliness and hygiene will open ways for economic growth by improving tourism activities in the state.
He also interacted with district-level-officers, families of freedom fighters and representatives of civil society organisations at KLNP in Keibul.
Speaking at the interactive session, Governor Ganesan said that he had made plans to visit all the districts of the state to know the culture and traditions of the area.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=6]Appealing to all sections of the society to get vaccinated, he said that the main reason for his visit is to insist on the matter of cleanliness and hygiene in Manipur, as it will reduce the chance of diseases and he is confident that all the district-level officers will ensure that it is maintained.
Meanwhile, some district-level officers highlighted shortages of staff, which has hampered the smooth functioning of the office. The additional, DC Hanjabam Bobby Sharma of Bishnupur also made a powerpoint presentation on various activities and achievements of different departments.
