Mass social work and cleanliness drives conducted in Mokokchung, Wokha, Medziphema and Peren ahead of Republic Day.

MOKOKCHUNG/DIMAPUR — Mass social work and cleanliness drives were conducted in Mokokchung, Wokha, Medziphema and Peren on January 23.
The 27 Assembly Constituency (AC) Mokokchung NPF Youth Wing organised a cleanliness drive at various locations across Mokokchung as part of its initiative to promote cleanliness and community service.
According to Wati, youth secretary of the 27 AC Mokokchung NPF Youth Wing, the event took place under the directive of Metsübo Jamir, minister of Rural Development (RD) and State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD).
It covered Salangtem, Kichutip, Aongza, Kümlong, and Mongsenbai, with over 50 youths from each ward participating.
The drive aimed to raise awareness about the importance of cleanliness and foster a sense of responsibility among community members. Participants worked together to clear trash and debris.
Mass social work was also conducted in Wokha, Medziphema, and Peren in view of the forthcoming 77th Republic Day celebration.

The social work was carried out across Wokha town from 7 am under the directive of the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Wokha. The initiative witnessed participation from district heads of department along with the general public.
According to a DIPR report, the work was conducted in various jurisdictions of the town. District officials coordinated the activities in their respective areas, while residents joined hands to contribute to the collective effort.
In Medziphema, the social work commenced at 6 am under the supervision of the Medziphema administration.
Government officers, institutions, village councils, business establishments, town councillors and the general public extended cooperation by carrying out cleanliness drives in their respective office premises, localities, surrounding areas, markets and residential areas.
Special emphasis was given to the collection, segregation and proper disposal of debris and waste materials.
In Peren, the work was conducted at the district headquarters from 9 am. Spearheaded and supervised by the district administration, officers and staff from various government departments participated in the drive, which included removal of dry weeds and litter and general sanitation and beautification works in and around their respective office premises and other assigned locations.
The mass social work was also carried out across all offices, schools, and wards under Jalukie town. All business establishments in Jalukie town remained closed during the programme.
