Cleanliness drive held in Wokha town
WOKHA — The Lead Bank, Wokha, in collaboration with ‘After 20s,’ a girl band from Wokha district, conducted a cleanliness drive in Wokha town on Monday.
Non-governmental organisations like Metamorphosis, along with the Tsumang Youth Organisation, New Wokha Village Youth Organisation and New Wokha Village Student’s Union, also took part in the cleanliness drive.
C Yanthan, district manager of Lead Bank, Wokha, extended gratitude to all the participants and individuals for their efforts. He appealed to the community to have civic responsibility for a cleaner and better town, stating that cleanliness is a moral responsibility.
Members of the ‘After 20s’ also urged citizens to uphold cleanliness while reminding that “Cleanliness is next to godliness.”
Nine bank branches and representatives from the district administration participated in the event. More than 150 volunteers from various CSOs took part in the cleanliness drive held at two locations: the public ground and the post office in Wokha.
