Following their debut on March 17 this year, local band Lords of Rock has announced an unplugged gig on Friday August 12, from 7 pm at the Niathu Resort in Dimapur.
Niathu group is the event partner for the concert with audio and stage services Audio Garage, Shiu Lights, and Raindrop Entertainment coming in as the production partner. This was announced at a press conference at the resort on Thursday by Niathu Group’s sales and marketing manager Khroku Nuh.
The band, primarily an ‘80s and classic rock outfit, will break their traditional rock and roll for a special set of tender music targeting the family. The group will play ‘40s music besides classic rock staples from ‘70s superstars Foreigner and the Eagles etc. The concert will be streamed live on social media to reach out to a bigger audience, the band members informed.
Niathu Group has been instrumental in promoting local musicians by giving them stage opportunities at the resort. At a time when the music industry is facing hard times, the platform could well be important for artists.
Niathu Group is ever-ready to offer a platform to serious musicians, Nuh said in assurance.
The trend of participating only during the Hornbill Festival is not observed to be unsatisfactory. Niathu Group is looking for a ‘long term relationship’ in its bid to support sincere artists. Niathu Group’s marketing manager opined that local artists need to make money through music not only limited to a particular season but during any given opportunity at a professional level.
Lords of Rock announced that the band was working on an EP which will be out by the end of this year.
The ticket to the unplugged gig is priced at Rs. 200. No outside food and beverages will be allowed inside the resort.
The band promises a complete ‘family friendly gig’ breaking from their traditional shows they have been doing so far.
