Kohima, Nov. 8 (EMN): Barak FC survived a scare as they edged past Kohima College via tie-breaker to advance to the pre-quarters of the ongoing Classic Cup soccer tournament here at Kohima local ground on November 8.
The exciting match headed for tie-breaker as both the teams were in a 2-2 draw till the end of the stipulated time. In the end, Barak FC had the last laugh as they emerged victorious in the penalty shoot-out by 4 goals against 1. Had Barak FC lost the match, they will need to blame themselves for maintaining complacency in the second half.
The Peren team was placed in a comfortable position till the interval with 2-0, however, Kohima College players fought determinedly to come back into the game.
Barak took the first lead when Elminhao scored in the 19th minute, followed by another quick goal by the same player in the 21st minute.
