Dr. T. Alemeren as the main speaker. A press note from the college informed that Rev. Dr. T Alememeren was the convener of the three member committee - the other members being late Rev. Lanumeren, former executive secretary of ABAM and late Rev. I. Anang, the first principal of the college - instituted by ABAM to survey the possibilities of opening a theological college in 1971. ABAM (or Abam) is the abbreviation (or acronym) for Ao Baptist Arogo Mungdang (Ao Baptist Church Council). The release informed that on Aug 10 1972, ‘the year when Ao Baptist Arogo Mungdang celebrated its hundred years of Christianity in Nagaland, the college christened as Clark Theological College, named after the first American missionary Dr. Edward W. Clark was born’.
