Dimapur, December 14

A group of students from local theological institute, Clark Theological College, are in Assam for what they say is “holistic ministry”, a Christian ministry that would run for three weeks from December 14 till January 2 next year. Clark Theological College is located in Aolijen in Mokokchung district. The students of the community informed through a press release received here today that they would be undertaking the ministry disseminating the message of the gospel in various areas covering more than 50 churches.
The churches are under the aegis of the Assam Valley Baptist Mission headquartered at Nakachari in Jorhat district of Assam.
The college informed Saturday that the team has been divided into seven groups and stationed at seven strategic locations ‘to cover the unreached’ specifically in the foothill regions of the Nagaland-Assam border. The border areas are where the Christians are in minority along with other communities, the theology students said.
The people of the chosen areas will be “enlighten with the Gospel in this session of Christmas,” the college’s press release said.
The press release explained in one good length: “Though the task is quite challenging and painstaking, the church executives of the Assam Valley Baptist Mission, which is a conglomeration of more than 53 Baptist churches located in three upper Assam districts of Sivasagar, Jorhat and Golaghat operating in a geographical area of almost 3600 sq km, have made the mission possible for partnering with the CTC for the Holistic Ministry to happen in this land of Dr. EW Clark and Godhula Babu.”
The year marks Assam Valley Baptist Mission’s second hosting of the college’s students’ ministry. A group of 14 students toured the area the previous year, the college said. “All are requested to uphold in prayers for the success of this ministry and well being of the students during their stay in the land,” the students stated.
