Civil society organisations, opposition leader mourn M Vero’s demise

Dimapur, Jan. 25 (EMN): Organisations and leaders have mourned the demise of M Vero, former Rajya Sabha and minister, who passed away on January 24 at Dimapur.

TR Zeliang: Leader of the opposition, TR Zeliang, has expressed pain at the passing away of former MP and minister M Vero on January 24 at Dimapur following brief illness.
Zeliang has described Vero a respected political figure who dedicated his service for the cause of the Naga people. While lamenting the loss, Zeliang stated that Vero’s love and concern for the Naga people would ever be remembered.
He has conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed that the Almighty God would grant them peace and solace in their hour of pain and sorrow. He further prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.

NTC: Nagaland Tribes Council (NTC), while mourning the demise of M Vero, described him as an experienced leader, social worker and a reformer. It lamented that his passing away has created void at a time when the people needed him most as a consultant towards building a better society.
NTC has conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed to Almighty God to grant them courage to withstand the sorrow and grief.

TPO: Tenyimi Peoples’ Organisation (TPO), while mourning the demise of M Vero, described him as a true Naga leader whose amiable attitude drew the affection of those who came in contact with him.
The organisation lamented that Naga people have lost a father figure in his demise. It, however, stated that his absence would be profoundly felt for a long time to come.
TPO further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.

CPO: Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO) eulogised M Vero as a source of inspiration whose amiable attitude won the admiration of many people. It stated that his indomitable Naga spirit was the driving force which earned him admiration from the people.
CPO saluted him for his love for the glorious history and culture of the Nagas. It lamented that CPO and the Chakhesang community have lost a true leader in his demise. It further prayed to the Almighty God to grant them solace and strength to bear with the loss.

WCH: Western Chakhesang Hoho (WCH) has described M Vero as a straightforward, honest, friendly, humorous and a determined person who kept the Chakhesang people united under his authority.
While acknowledging that he might not be able to do enough justice towards fulfilling the Naga peoples’ aspiration for peace, WCH president Dietho Rhakho said he would remain as the tallest leader among the Chakhesang community.
Meanwhile, he has expressed gratitude to the Naga people for reposing faith on M Vero to lead the Naga people under various capacities.
WCH has further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members.

PHN: Poumai Hoho Nagaland (PHN) has expressed sadness over the demise of M Vero, who had rendered valuable service for the society in various capacities.
Stating that his demise was a great loss for the Nagas, it stated his contributions for the Naga society would be ever remembered. The hoho further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.

Thenucho: Former Speaker of Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA), Thenucho Tunyi has termed M Vero as a self content and shrewd politician, who take any given situation with a positive attitude.
He lamented that in his death Nagas have lost a great statesman, a guardian of the Nagas and Chakhesang community in particular. He has further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed soul to rest on peace.
