NCSA urges Nagaland government to conduct a time-bound inquiry into allegations against Kiphire DC Temsuwati Longkumer, stressing due process
DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Civil Service Association (NCSA) has urged the state government to conduct an impartial, time-bound inquiry into allegations against Kiphire Deputy Commissioner Temsuwati Longkumer, cautioning against drawing conclusions before the claims are examined by the competent authority.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the association said it had taken note of a representation submitted to the commissioner of Nagaland and subsequently circulated on social media.
The NCSA said citizens had the right to raise grievances against public servants and that allegations of misconduct, if supported by evidence, must be examined seriously and impartially in accordance with the law.

However, it expressed concern that the allegations were being discussed and judged in the public domain before an official inquiry had taken place. The circulation of unverified claims should not be treated as proof of wrongdoing, it asserted, warning that public condemnation could harm an officer’s reputation and prejudice a fair inquiry.
The association appealed to the public, civil society organisations and social media users to refrain from amplifying unverified claims or making definitive judgements about the deputy commissioner or other government servants.
It urged the competent authority to ensure a fair and time-bound inquiry into all allegations raised in the representation.
The NCSA maintained that accountability and transparency must be upheld alongside due process, fairness and reliance on evidence.
