Dimapur, Sep. 4 (EMN): The leaders and citizens of Peren district have come together to fight social injustice in the society through a voluntary Civil Rights Forum (CRF), a press release informed on Wednesday.

The forum, which has been functioning as “Justice Forum Peren District” since 2017, was renamed as CRF after a consultative meeting on July 27 2019. The members of the forum have expressed the “urgent need to initiate a civil rights movement to prevail social justice in the society as the voice of the voiceless.”

“The forum shall work hand in hand with all civil organisations in the district and state level as supporting agent in promoting social justice and human rights,” it informed.

The CRF currently has 33 members including six advocates, it said. They have appealed to the citizens to work together to create an “ideal society where everyone co-exist in harmony.” The forum informed that citizens can contact them for redressing their problems.
