City Law College in Dimapur conducts an HIV and AIDS awareness programme and testing drive with the NACO Cell.
DIMAPUR — City Law College, Dimapur, organised an HIV and AIDS awareness programme in collaboration with the National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO) Cell at the college Moot Court hall on September 22 on the theme “Zero stigma, better tomorrows”.
The event was attended by faculty and students of City Law College, as well as faculty and class 9 and 10 students of Government High School, according to an update.
The main awareness session was delivered by Titepeni Merry, Mobile Integrated Counselling and Testing Centre (MICTC) Counsellor. Merry highlighted the importance of HIV testing, whether one is infected or not, to be on the safer side.
She encouraged the gathering, stating that young people should be open to discussing issues concerning unprotected sex and its consequences, as timely preventive measures are essential for preventing HIV and AIDS and saving lives.
The awareness session was followed by an interactive question hour, during which faculty and students actively participated by asking questions and clarifying their doubts relating to HIV and AIDS.
An important component of the programme was the participation of the MICTC team, which conducted HIV testing activities and carried out tests for several students.
