Dimapur, June 3 (EMN): The joint committee on prevention of illegal immigrants (JCPI) has convened a meeting of apex tribal and community organisations in Nagaland.
The meeting will be discussing the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, updates stated.
The committee issued on Monday a press note inviting a number of organisations to the meeting which has been scheduled for June 7 in Dimapur.

The organisations the committee invites to said meeting are the Tenyimi People’s Organisation, Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation, Central Nagaland Tribes Council, Kuki Inpi in Nagaland, and the Kachari Tribal Council in Nagaland.

The committee stated that twelve tribe hohos and community groups had attended a meeting on May 18 called by the committee at the Tourist Lodge in Dimapur: The “NTC, NGBF, NCD, CNTC, ENPUD, UNTABA, SN, ACAUT, Nagaland Garo Union, and Dimapur district based bodies like DDGBF, DUCCF, TUCT, CAKU, ASTD, WCH, LHD, DNSU, ASTUD, AYF, and DAYO.”

‘One of the house resolutions was to “have extensive deliberation on CAB with TPO (Tenyimi People’s Organisation), ENPO (Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation), CNTC (Central Nagaland Tribes Council), KIN (Kuki Inpi Nagaland) and KTCN (Kachari Tribal Council Nagaland) representing 16 tribes, on the 7th of June at the Tourist Lodge in Dimapur, 11 am.’

“Therefore, once again the JCPI extends its invitation to the 3 mass based organizations and the two apex organizations to attend the meeting,” the note from the JCPI’s media cell stated.
