Cinematography and editing workshop underway at PCC

Dimapur, Sep. 12 (EMN): The department of Multimedia and Mass Communication, Patkai Christian College (Autonomous), is currently conducting a week-long hands-on intensive cinematography and editing workshop.

An update informed that the workshop is supervised by film editor and cinematographer, Paree Khuman, who is also the CEO of Khuman Mamikol Film Production, Manipur.

The week-long training, which commenced on September 9, is categorised into various activities including outdoor and indoor shoot, day-night shoot, lighting set up and principles of video editing.

Khuman is also carrying out familiarisation exercises of production and post production stages in filmmaking, it stated.

Among others, the students are being trained with the practicalities of camera handling and the resource person is also guiding the students to shoot short scenes and sequences.

While teaching different use of video editing tools and techniques to the students, Khuman is also updating them with new editing software utilities, it stated.

The workshop is to provide students the opportunity to explore cinematography as a creative art, said assistant professor, Rojenn Wahengbam, teacher-in-charge of the workshop.

He also expressed that contemporary teaching calls for going beyond the four-wall classroom teaching.
