Chüziema FC downed Ablaze FC 5-0 to enter the second round of the ongoing Classic Cup Tournament held at Kohima Local Ground under the theme “Championing the True Spirit of the Game”.
Apart from the victory, Chüziema FC centre forward Menguzelie also became the fourth player of the tournament to score a hat-trick.
Chüziema FC took an early lead through Viphrelie in the 7th minute, followed by Menguzelie with the second goal in the 12th minute. Menguzelie again found the net in the 20th minute to make it 3-0 before the interval.
Entering the second half of the 60-minutes match, Chüziema FC scored the fourth goal in the 52nd minute through their midfielder Avilie.
Moving into the last minutes of play of the second half, it was celebration time again for Chüziema FC as Menguzelie went on to score his hat-trick goal during additional minutes.
With the victory, Chüziema FC will next take on the winner of the match between Pfuratsie FC and HQ IGAR (North), to be played tomorrow.In the first match, Nagabazar Youth Organization (NYO) survived a tie-break against Meriema United to make it to the next round.
Earlier in the match, Meriema United scored first when Kekhriengulie Üsou got past the keeper in the 35th minute, however, NYO equalized in the 52nd minute through Neiphivilie Seyie, to take the match to the tie-break where they emerged victorious.
Playing the second match, Medziphema United overcame 4th NAP Youth FC by 1-0 to advance to the second round. Khriese Terhüja’s 8thminute goal was enough to take his team to the next round.
Though they advanced to the next round, Medziphema United will play the next match without one of their key player Paojagin Singson who was penalized with a yellow card today.
Medziphema United will next play against Nagabazar United on November 12.
