Dimapur, May 18 (EMN): In an attempt to fight the ongoing pandemic more effectively, the chief secretary of Nagaland, J Alam, along with senior officers and the state Covid-19 war room had a meeting with several church bodies and discussed various topics including education and awareness on Covid-19 and health-appropriate behaviour.

The churches that participated in the video conference included the Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC), Diocese of Kohima, Catholic Church, Nagaland Christian Revival Church and Pentecostal Church, according to an update by the government of Nagaland on its Twitter handle.

The update said the House also discussed about “church volunteers to provide assistance in the management of Covid-19 care centres as support staff and services” as well as training and dissemination of Covid-appropriate information.

“The church leaders expressed willingness to come forward wholeheartedly to work with the government agencies to fight the pandemic together,” it wrote.
