Dimapur, Feb. 15: The Tribal Union of Chumukedima Town (TUCT) has ‘appealed’ for the resignation of legislator Jacob Zhimorni, on moral grounds.
The union issued a press release to the media on Wednesday stating said demand.
“Tribal Union Chumukedima Town (TUCT) has collectively resolved to appeal for immediate resignation of Shri Jacob Zhimorni Gasphani (1) on moral ground. Tribal Union Chumukedima Town rightfully questions the sheer silence of our elected representative when all the hues and cries were taking place in its own constituency,” the press release stated. According to the organisation, it has “witnessed a dismaying role of our father figure, who instead of listening to the people’s woes has rather kept on deaf ears thus far.”
The union reaffirms to stand by the “people’s demand and sought for an immediate resignation of our constituency elected MLA, for the betterment of his future.”
Therefore, the TUCT stated, it has appealed to the Chumukedima public to cooperate “with positive endurance until the common cause is realized and achieved.”
The organisation has also appealed to the volunteers “for creating conveniences in movement especially for the students appearing examinations.”
