Dimapur, Oct. 11 (EMN): The annual Chümoukedima district inter-school sports meet organised by the Chümoukedima Town Students’ Union (CTSU) kicked off on Tuesday at local ground, Chümoukedima, with Advisor for Sericulture, Excise and Minority Affairs, Zhaleo Rio, as chief guest in the inaugural ceremony.
The chief guest in his address requested the student leaders to strive for excellence in the fast changing world. Zhaleo also encouraged students to eradicate tribalism and to excel in their studies as well as in their co-curricular activities through hard work. He further asked the parents present to encourage their children to identify their interests and invest in them.
An update informed that nine schools participated in march past in the inaugural function and CTSU games and sports secretary, Vitseilie Zuyie, led oath-taking ceremony.
Earlier, President CTSU Kezhawelie Richa, delivered the welcome address. The inter-school tournament will culminate on October 14.
