Christmas Night Carnival from Dec. 20 in Mokokchung

The Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC) in collaboration with Adventure and Motorsports Association Mokokchung (Amam) and Mokokchung District Musicians’ Association (MDMA) will be organising  ‘Christmas Night Carnival’ from Dec. 20 till the 22nd at Mokokchung Town.

The carnival will be held with the active support from All Ward Union Mokokchung and Mokokchung Chamber of Commerce and Industries. The main purpose of the carnival is to add colours to the festive season as well as to let the citizens enjoy nightlife during the Christmas season.

A press conference was held on Dec. 7 at MCC office in Mokokchung.

Addressing the press conference, the office chamber of the Additional Deputy Commissioner and Administrator of MMC, W Manpai Phom NCS along with representatives of AMAM and MDMA members said that the night carnival will be held under strict guidelines including food stalls, fun games, music booth and photo booth. The use of liquor and other illegal substance would not be allowed in any of the stalls, the officials informed.

The location of the carnival will be from the Town Square (Police Point) to Rotary Point and the timing will be from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

The administrator MMC also informed that that the council has entrusted Amam and MDMA to organise the Midnight Service (New Year’s Eve) program which is a tradition for Mokokchung Town. He further added that this year’s midnight service will be held in a bigger and better way thus adding

more fervour to the list of celebrations of the town.
