Choral Conducting Workshop to be held in Dimapur

Dimpaur, Oct. 16 (EMN): Nagaland Choral Directors Association (NCDA) will be organising its first ‘Choral Conducting Workshop’ from November 18 to the 20th at Dimapur Christian Fellowship Church, Darogapathar.
This was informed by NCDA members during a press conference at The King Chilli, Hibos Garden, 5th Mile, Dimapur on Saturday.
The president of NCDA, Vimezo Iralu, informed that a group of likeminded choral enthusiasts had come together in 2019to form the Nagaland Choral Directors Association (NCDA), a first of its kind in Nagaland.
He informed that it was floated with a vision to promote choral art; to enhance, empower and enrich choir directors, and music directors in the state by creating and providing various platforms for the advancement of choral music.
The president informed that the NCDA plans to organise events like choral festivals, workshops, seminars, conventions, etc., and to promote Naga choral music, composers and arrangers in the future.
Iralu went on to say that NCDA events were put to hold for the past two years due to the global pandemic but decided to organise a workshop this time as the situation has improved.
Vice President of NCDA, Hito Kiho said that the association consisting of five members will be conducting the workshop of around 30 participants. Registration fee is INR 1500 and the last date for registering is November 15.

The five members who will conduct the workshop are: Vimezo Iralu, who had done Master of Church Music in Choral Conducting at Singapore Bible College and currently working as Worship Director, Union Baptist Church, Kohima; Hito Kiho, who holds a degree in Master of Music, Major in Choral Conducting, from St. Paul University Manila, Philippines and currently working as Music Director at Purana Bazar Sumi Baptist Church, East Dimapur and also a faculty at Nagaland Conservatory of Music (NCM), Dimapur; and General Secretary of NCDA, R Mhonroni Lotha, who had done Master of Music in Choral Conducting, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, USA and currently working as Assistant Professor, Margaret Shishak School of Music (MSSM), Patkai Christian College (Autonomous).
The other members are NCDA Finance Secretary Pfotokho Kayina, who did Master of Music, Major in Choral Conducting, St. Paul University Manila, Philippines and working as a faculty of Nagaland Conservatory of Music (NCM), Dimapur; and Public Relations Officer of NCDA, Kevisekuo Sechu, who had done Master of Music in Music Education, Voice Emphasis, St. Paul University Manila, Philippines and currently work as Assistant Professor, Margaret Shishak School of Music (MSSM), Patkai Christian College (Autonomous).
It was also informed that Lipokmar Tzudir and James Swu as Advisors of the association.
