Chokri area sports meet begins

Kohima, Jan. 3 (EMN): The 49th Chokri area games and sports association (CAGSA) meet began at Khulazu Basa village's local ground on January 3 on the theme 'friendship and progress.' The event was conducted with an aim to produce young talents and to train them professionally. All the eleven villages under Chokri area arrived on Thursday at the host village Khulazu Basa for the ten days games and sports meet. Addressing the inaugural function, president of Khulazu Basa youth organisation, Sekhoyi Chuzho, advised the delegates to abstain from intoxicating substances. He informed that such activities would be strictly prohibited throughout the event and warned that defaulters would invite penalty from the village authorities. Further, he requested the delegates to maintain and follow strict discipline as sportsperson. Chairman of Khulazu Basa Baptist Church council, Mehükhüyi Rhakho, in his welcome address, encouraged the players to have confidence in themselves and give their best in whichever games they chose to play. Singer and songwriter Vecülü Rhakho presented her first single debut 'The story I know,' which was released last year, while singer-rapper and songwriter Cüsüyi Rhakho popularly known as Chusi Rhakho, who also won the best Nagaland Music Award in the genre of hip-hop 2017, also presented his original 'Blessing' at the event. Also, Sekholü and Kezhothito along with the choir treated the gathering with theme song for CAGSA.
