Chümoukedima district administration issues advisories on NH-29 and NH-329A, and schedules the Chümoukedima DPDB meeting for July.
DIMAPUR — The Chümoukedima district administration has scheduled the monthly District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting while issuing a public notice inviting claims on National Highway 329A and a safety advisory for National Highway 29.
DPDB meeting on July 10
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Polan John has informed that the monthly DPDB meeting for the month of July is scheduled to be held on July 10 at 10:30 am in the DC's conference hall, Chümoukedima. An update mentioned that all members have been requested to attend.
NH-329A land claims, objections
Meanwhile, the office of the DC has issued a public notice inviting claims and objections from individuals whose land falls within the Right of Way (RoW) of the NH-329A along the Pimla Junction to Mhainamtsi stretch.
The notice was issued in compliance with the Gauhati High Court, Kohima Bench, order dated June 3, 2026, in connection with PIL No. 1/2024. The court directed the DC to identify landowners whose land falls within the RoW of the highway, verify any existing claims or disputes, obtain undertakings, and submit compliance reports.

All persons claiming ownership or any interest over the land along the alignment have been asked to submit their claims or objections to the DC office within 30 days from the publication date of the notice. Claimants must provide their name, address, contact details, description and location of the land, nature of claim or interest, copies of supporting documents, and an undertaking stating whether they intend to claim any rights over the land falling within the RoW in the future.
The district administration has advised all concerned landowners and interested persons to submit their documents within the stipulated period. For further information, they may contact the DC office in Chumoukedima during office hours.
Caution on NH-29 amid landslide risks
Additionally, the DC has issued a public advisory for commuters travelling along the NH-29 stretch from Chathe Bridge (Unity Gate) to Tsiedukhru-Khuokhi Bridge, Kukidolong, in view of the monsoon season and increased risks of rockfalls and landslides.
According to a DIPR report, the advisory urges road users to exercise extreme caution, especially during heavy rain and at night. Commuters have been advised to follow traffic diversions and adhere to instructions from authorities on-site. The left-hand side (LHS) carriageway of the four-lane highway may be temporarily closed without prior notice when necessary.
Commuters have also been advised to refrain from circulating unverified information regarding road conditions and to rely only on official updates.
