Dimapur, March 25 (EMN): Former chief minister of Nagaland, KL Chishi has declined the post of chairman offered to him by the current Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio.
In a recent notification, Rio had appointed Chishi – who lost on BJP ticket this election from 32 Atoizu assembly constituency – as the chairman of the Development Authority of Nagaland.
Chishi informed Eastern Mirror about his decision to decline the offer over the telephone on Sunday evening. “I have declined to accept the offer of DAN chairman with gratitude and have submitted my declination letter addressed to the chief minister and the cabinet this evening,” Chishi said.
When asked of the reason behind his decision, Chishi responded that his ‘interest lies more on the settlement of the Indo-Naga political issue.’ the former chief minister said that he does not want to ‘divulge petty matters.’
