Dimapur, Oct. 6 (EMN): A programme for children named the ‘children’s recreational event 2019’ was inaugurated on October 6 at the Dimapur District Sports Complex stadium in Dimapur.
The event, organised by a local group Mind Blowers’ Club, is a three-day programme. It will conclude on Oct. 8.
Speaking at the programme, the additional deputy secretary of Rural Development Athel O Lotha lauded the club for organising the event to encourage the development of the children’s wellbeing through recreation activities.
The official acknowledged that recreational activities are a wonderful tool to help children gain important skills while also having fun. Lotha said positive activities are a key way to keeping children occupied constructively and in a healthy manner while also strengthening their teamwork and communication skills and build their self-esteem.
The second and third day of the event will commence from 10 am and till 8 pm.
