Dimapur, Nov. 22 (EMN): Children from all the districts of the state have pledged to remain vigilant and bear in mind at all times of the risk to themselves and colleagues from the Covid-19 pandemic.

Children took the pledge during the Child Rights Week celebration organised by the Child Protection Services (CPS) under the department of Social Welfare from November 14 to the 20th. The week-long celebration was observed in all the 11 district child protection units across the state on the theme ‘It takes a community to protect a child.’

An update from the Social Welfare department stated that the week-long event was celebrated by organising mass poster campaign in all the districts across the state.

Realising that communities and neighbourhoods play an important role in ensuring safety and well-being of the children, the campaign was aimed at building community commitment towards creating a safe and secure environment for the children and raising awareness at the village and ward level on child rights and protection issues, the report stated.
