Dimapur, Nov. 9 (EMN): With the rest of the country, the
Childline Dimapur began a weeklong ‘Childline Se Dosti Week’campaign on Nov. 8.
The ‘Childline Se Dosti Week’ campaign is an annual weeklong event being organised all over the country under the initiative of Childline India Foundation, with the aim to reach out and extend hands of friendship and to create awareness on Child Rights and Child Protection Acts.
The Childline Dimapur team, as partner and as part of the friendship week, kicked off the campaign by putting up Childline pamphlets and posters in all the major traffic police assistance kiosks of Dimapur town.
A two day poster campaign was successful with positive and active support of the Dimapur Police Commissioner, who willingly gave permission to make usage of the Kiosks’ space free of charge, informed Childline Dimapur.
The campaign will continue till Nov. 15 with various activities and programmes.
The Childline has requested all the citizens to make diligent usage of the toll free Childline helpline – 1098, which is manned 24×7, if they witness or are aware of children being abused, abandoned, missing, loitering around or in distress situations.
