A Childline Dost is someone who chooses to lend a hand to Childline in helping children in distress and in difficult circumstance

Childline 1098 is 24X7 emergency toll free helpline for children in need of Care and Protection. Any child or concerned adult can dial 1098 to access emergency assistance for a child in distress. Every year in the month of November, Childline carry out a weeklong national campaign “Childline Se Dosti Campaign” across the country. A celebration that commemorates the concept of creating and providing a safe environment for our children. This annual campaign strives to enable people from all walks of life to become important resource person in order to spread Childline’s message of promoting a child friendly society. It intends to influence and mobilize all those who can improve child protection and make a difference to children’s lives. Joining hands with the other Childline partners across the country, the Childline Kohima conducted a series of activities as a part of the campaign. The Campaign is sponsored by the department of SCERT, Nagaland, Kohima as a commitment of support to Childline. The highlights of the campaign includes: Creating a child friendly corner/room in the Police Stations in Kohima. True to his Childline Se Dosti Pledge, the Sr. SP Kohima, allotted rooms in Women Police Station and South Police Station for Childline to do up into child friendly settings. The Childline Kohima decorated the allotted corners/rooms with child friendly pictures, wall paintings and child friendly catchwords etc. The object is to create a child friendly environment and the police set up less intimidating for juveniles specially cases of Children in need of Care and Protection. To also avert keeping child victims and children alleged to be in conflict with law together with regular criminals brought to Police Stations. Also, Childline Logo and Slogan is incorporated in the Police Digital/LED board of emergency numbers placed below Police Head Quarter (PHQ),Kohima. Other activities conducted are awareness campaign in schools highlights of which included introduction of Childline and its services, documentary film showed on child abuse, presentation on POCSO Act 2012 and taking the Childline Se Dosti Pledge by students and teachers. The Campaign wrap up with a recreational time with children at “Each One Teach One” centre, Kohima. Childline Kohima is grateful to the department of SCERT, Nagaland, Kohima, Sr. Superintendent of Police, Kohima and colleagues, OCs of Women and South Police stations, School Authorities and well wishers for their active support and making the campaign a successful one.
