Dimapur, July 20 (EMN): The Kohima District Legal Services Authority (KDLSA) organised a programme on child friendly legal services under NALSA Scheme 2015 at Government High School Rüsoma on July 20.
Delivering welcome address, assistant headmistress of the school in her thanked the Panel Lawyers of KDLSA for organising such programme and added that the school was getting such legal awareness programme for the first time as the school is located out of the town and most of the time its unreached.
Panel Lawyer KDLSA, Apila Sangtam speaking on “POCSO” Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012, underlined that sexual offences which are recognized under POCSO Act and the procedure of reporting such cases when one becomes a victim. She also added that the Act does not only emphasise on definitions and procedures but also has reliefs available to child victim of sexual offences under the Act.
Speaking on Cyber Crime, Nancy Lotha, Panel Lawyer KDLSA pointed out the types of cyber crime and offence related to cyber crime under Information Technology Act, that how it is very common for children between the age group of 13-18 yrs to be victimized through cyber crimes. She also apprised that misuse of social networking will lead to cyber crimes and that one should be very careful when using the social networking sites.
A gist of Legal Services Authority was delivered by Nulhuvolu Rakho, Panel Lawyer KDLSA and Zakato Chishi Panel Lawyer KDLSA spoke on an Introduction to Child Friendly Legal Services (NALSA Scheme 2015), while vote of thanks was delivered by Keduvi Zhotso Panel Lawyer, KDLSA. The program was chaired by Puchole Zhapu.
