
Dimapur, June 26 (EMN): Nagaland chief secretary, J Alam, has sounded urgency for more testing and intensification of vaccination drive across the state and urged the low testing and vaccination districts to make concerted effort in ramping up the testing as well as vaccination in their respective districts.
The chief secretary stated this during an interaction with the district task forces (DTF) through video conferencing at Covid War Room of the chief secretary’s conference hall, Kohima, on Saturday.
A DIPR report stated that the chief secretary took stock of the situation on Covid status in all the districts particularly on testing, vaccination, rural surveillance and their recommendations about the extension of Lockdown.
It stated that the deputy commissioners of the different districts put forth suggestions and recommendations besides highlighting the problems and difficulties being faced in the districts in the fight against the virus.
Responding to the DCs, the chief secretary has assured to take up the matters with the higher authority for consideration. He also asked all the DCs to strictly check the attendance of district head of offices and ensure that officers concerned are in station for any eventuality at this juncture.
He further lauded the DTF and encouraged them to work harder in order to contain the virus.
Also speaking during the programme, DGP Nagaland, TJ Longkumer asked all the superintendents of police (SP) to be more vigilant and make sure that anti-social activities are not carried out around the vicinity of the hospitals.
“Security of the medical staff and patients is very important,” he said.
He also declared that Longleng DEF has achieved 100% vaccination. He added that a citation along with a cash amount of INR 50,000 was given in appreciation of their good work.
