Dimapur, Aug. 19 (EMN): Poultry was distributed to beneficiaries of Mishilimi village as part of the Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana, integrated farming system, scheme for 2018-19.
The poultry was distributed by the subdivision agriculture office of Pughoboto on August 14 in Zunheboto, updates stated.
The government publicity agency, the department of Information and Public Relations (IPR), issued on Monday updates about the programme.
The subdivision agriculture office for Pughoboto, Myanthung Patton urged the farmers to take the opportunity and to improve their livelihood through poultry farming, he said.
Patton also urged them to integrate with different components to increase their productivity like fishery cum poultry, the updates stated.
Mishilimi council’s chairman, N KhuluWotsa, who presided over the program, thanked the department for taking the initiative and sought more cooperation from the department as well as from the farmers, the IPR added.
