Chavara Home observes Women’s Day

EMN Dimapur, March 6 A non-governmental organization by the name of Chavara Home in Naharbari, Dimapur, had organized Women’s Day cum free checkup on Hepatitis B and C in its premises on March 5. Wife of 6th Sector Assam Rifles Commander, Vidika Dhiman was the chief guest, while the keynote address was delivered by Ms Asha Sanchu, Director of Miqlat Ministry, Dimapur, and Tokeli Kikon, chairperson of Naharbari was the special guest. About 80 women participated in the prograame. Proprietor of Vini Clinic, Midland, Dr. Hotoka,along with his team conducted the free checkup on Hepatities B and C. Altogether, seventy seven patients availed the free check up and more forty of them received preventive vaccinations. The chief guest expounded on the vital role of women towards building a just society by nurturing their children. She stressed that women are responsible for the good and bad that is happening in the society. Ms Asha, in her keynote address, said there are so many great women in the world from whom they could learn to respect and value womanhood. She said woman has tremendous capacity within herself. The special invitee, Tokeli, said women have so much strength who could divert it for the good of the society. On the occaision, Chavara Home children presented few items for the women. Before starting the programme, competitions were conducted for the women. The winners were awarded prizes by Brig. Brijesh Dhiman, 6th Sector Assam Rifles. He congratulated and encouraged the women to come up in life.
