Change of guard in the Business Association of Nagas

Dimapur, April 12 (EMN): The Business Association of Nagas (BAN) has changed its guard. The organization conducted a ceremony marking the induction of new office bearers, on April 11 in Dimapur. A press release from the association informing about the event was received here on Thursday. The departing president of BAN Thungbemo Murry said during the event that ever since its inception on August 1 2013, the organisation had taken up the challenge of confronting several business concerns initially. They concentrated on the grievance of taxation imposed by Naga political groups on the Naga business community. Murry said: ‘BAN gradually started to collaborate and coordinate with the DCCI, EDBA, and Dimapur district administration in organizing events to promote Naga entrepreneurs of which the NITEX 2017 organized by BAN gave the association both national and international recognition.’ He urged the organisation’s members to stick together in nurturing the BAN with wisdom and expertise, the updates stated. The new president, Vitho Zao, gave credit to the departing office bearers for the pioneering work they did. He acknowledged the efforts they had exerted for the growth of the BAN and leaving a legacy to carry its objectives forward, the updates stated. On behalf of the new office bearers, Zao pledged to endeavour toward working for the interest of the BAN and to uphold transparency, and to pursue the vision of the group with integrity and to take the association to the next level. Other members of the new team are General Secretary Dr. Lanusangla Tzudir, Finance Secretary Oka V Chisho, and Treasurer Jwenga Seb, the updates added.
