Kohima, March 26 (EMN): Chandmari Higher Secondary School (CHSS) defeated Government High School Chandmari (GHSC) by 58 runs in the finals to emerge as the champions of the Kohima District Inter-School U-16 tournament held at the Kohima local ground on Mon. March 26.
In the final match, CHSS elected to bat first and scored 154 runs losing nine wickets in 20 overs.
All-rounder Lanutoshi scored 30 runs, Vishal with 19 runs and Abhinash 18 runs (not out) for the team to set up 155 run target for their opponent team in the final match. While Moina claimed three wickets and Keneingulie took two wickets for Government High School Chandmari.
In reply, Chandmari Govt. High School fell short of 56 runs as they were bowled out for 96 runs in 12.3 overs. All-rounder Moina contributed the highest 32 runs (not out) but that wasn’t enough for the team in the final match. While Abhinash claimed three wickets and Vishal took two wickets for CHSS in the final match.
For individual awards in the tournament, Lanutoshi, CHSS was adjudged the best bowler, best wicketkeeper by Neiphrute, CHSS and best batsman by Nocktich, Government High School Chandmari.
